' KUTSÏ / LUNAR '

2018

Mexican artist Mina Romero, works actively in feminism and for women’s rights.

The idea behind this mural is to present the idea of woman's freedom, to do as she pleases, look as she pleases and live as she pleases, not to hide or apologize for her body.

” The two women are floating or swimming in a river, or maybe they are flying through a wind? The elements both reveal and caress them.

The naked body is a natural and honest manifestation of the body as a container that holds our self, our personality, our rationality. The women’s dresses move with the element – the water or the wind – and reveal their bodies but hide their faces, which maintains the women’s anonymity.

” The image is an honest presentation about being able to show your body and at the same time keep your focus – or your dream – as your journey continues.

The image is a utopia where women can close their eyes, show their bodies, enjoy the journey and feel strength and security. The clouds and lines in the painting are symbols that reinforce the feeling of the women’s journey. “
